Just as on the real railways, any newly arrived loco is evaluated on light duties before it is rostered for a top link service. This Class 47 failed on it's first day of arrival, and has only just been returned by Bachmann. It now seems perfect. It is waiting for a clear road to leave Bishops Heath yard with a short mixed freight to Water Orton & Washwood Heath. If all ok, the 47 will join the the current four loco squad rostered for the Banbury to Bescot link freight. That will just leave one steamer, a 2-8-0 Stanier 8f on that service. What sad times for the steam spotters.
