I have recently purchased a probably 1930's table lamp for restoration. On the base is printed (it's very hard to read) Glimerglow Lampa, but the interesting bit is it also says (again hard to read) a product of BPP Coventry Anyone know anything about them, please?

Hi, could it be B B F? This company or one with the same name is still trading.

No it's definitely BPP. I've managed to find a reference to another one that was for sale on eBay in the past but still no clues who BPP were. Could it be later than I think perhaps?

On searching the Newspaper Archive site, the name B.P.P. appears in the 1930/40s as a team entrant in the Coventry Works League for snooker - possibly other sports too but I haven't got paid access to the site so can't read all of the entries. Hope this at least proves their existence in the city.

There's a topic on here.....British Pressed Panels The first entry (I don't know how to link to that so I've copied it) reads Hi everybody I am new to this site but wanted to say first off that I think it's a really super example of local heritage and history enthusiasts pooling knowledge to enhance and celebrate local history. I have been attempting to no avail to find out any information at all about a company known as B P P Ltd, Coventry. The only bit of info I have to go in is that they were engaged in industrial metalwork / engineering. Other than a lamp I own that was made by them I think around the 1930's I have no idea what other metal products they made. The lamp components are made of aluminium and were traditionally manufactured through metal spinning. I would be so very very grateful for any information at all anyone can shed on B P P Ltd. Kind regards and sincere thanks in advance for any info you can provide, nicola Smile I guess this solves the OP's question? Mods note: Link to BPP thread

They're recorded in the Grace's Guide as still existing in in 1937 in Quinton.

British Pressed Panels had a meeting of the creditors on 12th January 1950 per an announcement in the CET.
