Does any forum member have difficulty in uploading images to the forum using an iPad?

Hi MR, I did have a problem at one time but I think Rob sorted it and said it was something to do with the pictures having the same file name. I usually find that taking a screen shot of the pictures is best, that seems to allocate a different file name and I have no problems now.

You sometimes have to pay them to do PEN testing. I worked on the software for a cloud based service a few years back, and we hired a hacker to make sure it was secure. The best way to find out if a system/software is secure is to open it up and let hackers try to break it.

Hi MR If your iPad or iPhone is running iOS 11 then images are saved as HEIF (Highly efficient image format) or HEIC format by default. They will need conversion to jpeg to upload. See here: HEIF/HEIC

Thanks for that, Robin Tried it, sadly made no difference Strange that I can continue to download images onto other forums I'm involved in, and onto Flickr - but not onto HCF!

Don't know if this will help any of you, or if you are having the same problem. My Windows 10 computer, which I am about giving up on in favour of an Apple, has an SSD drive for my programs. Over the years this drive has got fuller and fuller although I was only running the same things as I always did. The red line had nearly reached the end. I had a message from Microsoft a few days ago saying there was not enough space for the new upgrade. Roy had a real go at it yesterday and found some software that gave him more information about what was on there. He found a load of files in Appdataroamingadobecommonmedia cache files. These added up to 35GB which was a lot of my SSD drive. Looking on the internet, these files can be deleted. They all appear to be a copy of things you do on Adobe. I have Photoshop. Apparently it is something that Adobe do but don't tell you about. Roy has deleted them and I have no problems. Windows have updated the software although I am not happy about the way that has changed things so am glad I am getting away from it when I can get all my stuff on the new Mac. Hope this helps somebody.

Hi Heathite, I know you've updated to say it's sorted now, but I've never been a fan of Adobe reader - it's a huge cumbersome programme and takes up a lot of space on your hard-drive, which has always puzzled me, as it's just a basic file reader! For the last few years I've always shunned Adobe and downloaded Sumatra PDF Reader instead. It's much quicker, free, and takes up a tiny fraction of the space. Here's a link to download it for you or anyone interested. Post copied from topic Wartime mystery scene on 23rd Nov 2020 9:06 pm

My pleasure, glad to help! Smile (I just checked the file sizes - Adobe Reader is 128MB - Sumatra is only 9MB !)
