Could I ask whether there is any further information on these very interesting photos? The reason I ask is to do with the second one. I have studied it carefully, have consulted my brother, and have concluded it to be possible that the couple on the bottom left looking towards the play are my parents. They were active within the Church of England at this time, and like many others were involved in the many activities around the Cathedral which was just being consecrated and just a month after these photographs were taken, my father was licensed as a Lay Reader within the Church. It is therefore very likely that my parents would have attended this Mystery Play as part of the programme of events around the consecration.

This was a production, probably in 1962, of The Mysteries by the Coventry Theatre Guild, a team cherry-picked from the (then) many amateur companies in the city. The photographs show (top) Bob Prior-Pitt as Christ and (bottom) Bob Prior-Pitt with Trevor Thomas as Judas. The Theatre Guild continued to perform the Mysteries annually for quite a few years before the Belgrade took over.
