My Mate Matt.
A plumber was he
Servicing your boilers
With a smile on his face.
My Mate Matt.
A Digger driver was he.
Landscaping your garden
with that smile on his face.
My Mate Matt.
A mobile crane driver and mechanic
was he.
Erecting Statues and buildings.
with that smile on his face.
My Mate Matt.
A street cleaner was he.
Ripping those brushes free
from the vehicle did he.
Always with that
Smile on his face.
My Mate Matt.
A car recovery driver was he.
Always deliver you home safe
and free did he.
Still with that smile on his face.
My Mate Matt.
A fish and chip shop man was he.
Always a good portion
served by he.
With a smile on that face.
My Mate Matt.
Working on a farm did he
delivering lambs in the frost
but always with that smile on his face.
My Mate Matt.
When he tapped the window
on a dark and dismal day
to have a coffee.
It was like a ray of Sunshine
from that smile upon his face.
My Mate Matt.
A husband was he
with three children.
Always with that smile on his face.
My Mate Matt.
He was born with that smile
on his face.
That is why I called him "Sunshine"

My Mate Matt.
Our Son.
MATTHEW COLLINS
AGED 38
PASSED AWAY 3RD OCT 2013
PEACEFULLY IN HIS SLEEP

That's a beautiful poem John, so touching.
I wish there was something genuinely useful that I could say, but all our family's thoughts are with you and your family at this sad time. Children are so precious.

Reading your poem, I am saddened to think someone so special to you, was taken from you when he was only 38 years old and a family man. Thinking of you and your family.
