Oh my! Blush I had no idea! Can I assume that I'm mentioned in the context of local website listings?

Type 'Coventry history' in Google and you're right up there Rob and masses more stuff to read and look at than the competition. Double thumbs up However I've also spotted your name as a history resource in a number of worthy places, like archaeology reports and non-Coventry related history websites. I've written before that almost every picture I followed back to source, when I started, was at this site. It took me a while to realise that it wasn't an official site. Nabbing 'Historic Coventry' as a web name must have stymied a few late comers. Big grin Too often sites are stingy with pictures and text but not here. Fred Luckett, John Ashby's pub records are invaluable and were part of my top 5 sites to visit, even before you joined forces. Your map section is even more important now that Old Maps has gone. That engineering plan of the new roads is one I've used regularly. The site draws people in but the forum makes them regularly come back. I can't say how many times I've been helped either directly or indirectly by other members.

Very happy bunny this morning. I have just been given two lovely books. Coventry Past and Passing by A E Feltham, subscription copy number 309 which was presented to Mr H T Suddens by the boys of Broad Street School, Christmas 1930 on his move to Spon Street School, and an official souvenir copy of Godiva Procession August 7th 1907. Can’t wait to get stuck into them, lots of pictures.

Desolation of a City A rare book at a good price but it's a very technical tome about the impoverishment of the city and its people. Not for the light reader.

I have only just spotted your post about the Coventry Views and Reviews book, you have posted the link to on eBay, Helen. I see it isn’t sold. I was lucky enough to get this book some time ago from the St Giles charity book shop in Atherstone for £2.99 (as it was old), it is one of the best books I have bought and would recommend it to anyone interested in the old businesses in Coventry around the turn of the 19th century. Lots of history about the businesses and pictures.

Another golden oldie - 1908 SKETCHES (PENCIL DRAWINGS) OF OLD COVENTRY, Dr N Troughton & Mary Dormer, on eBay. A bit on the pricey side when you factor in the postage, and you can view all the sketches here, courtesy of Rob, and at Coventry Digital.
