What year was this photo taken because I was there in 1963 and I don't recognise anyone.

Having had a closer look I think I recognise two girls on the bottom row, one is second from the left and the other is extreme right, can't recall their names though.

Did you attend this school? Miss Healey was the headmistress at the time and very strict.

Hi tilly trotter, Wave I went to Ullathorne school from 1956 to 1959. When I was there, the headmistress was Miss Stephenson and the deputy head was Miss Healey. The thing I remember most about Miss Healey was her over use of make-up and perfume. Other teachers I remember were Miss Van Hee, whom we had for English, an excellent teacher, Mrs Smith the maths teacher, again she was an excellent teacher. I vaguely remember Miss Wright who taught arts and crafts, but I cannot recall any of the other teachers, perhaps you can give my memory a jog. Oh my

Hi Tricia, Miss Stephenson had died when I started and Miss Healey was head mistress. The thing I remember most about her was the over use of the strap across the hands and unfortunately I received it a couple of times just for not wearing my school beret. I do remember Miss Van Hee taking us for English and she was nice. I also remember Miss Wright taking us for arts and crafts. Was there a Mrs Wright who took us for needlework? I remember we had to make an apron in which to use for our cookery lessons. I just can't think of any other teachers at the moment but they might come back to me.

The girl I've highlighted might be Chrissy Morrison if that's any help to others? She'll probably kill me for pointing that out as she looked very different when I first met her a couple of years later! Lol What I don't get is that the summer frocks look striped in the picture whereas I remember them as being chequered which looked a uniform shade of pink when viewed from a distance?

The photo must have been taken before your time Dutchman. When I was there, summer uniform was a blue and white striped dress. Wave

Nope, secondary girls as well. The only difference was we wore maroon blazers and the grammar school wore royal blue. They may have changed the dresses after I left; the girls' school was only just getting established when I was there.

Fascinating Tricia Thumbs up I suspect it was changed when the girls grammar stream was moved to Cardinal Wiseman in 1961 but I believe those girls who had bought the earlier uniforms were allowed to keep wearing them. There was certainly no trace of blue left in the girls uniforms by 1965.
