Bishop Ullathorne Schools (girls, boys and grammar school)

I have found an old cassette with recordings of Aquitaine!!! The quality is appalling I'll try and digitise a few but it's going to take a while.....

I've seen several schools with their own place in topics but not Bishop Ullathorne's Girls School. There must be some of you on the forum. I was happy to be there from '59 to '65.

I think it was 1958/9, we were about 14. What year did you attend?

This photo is of Ullathorne Grammar school, I attended 1956-1961. I think the head was Miss Turketine, not sure of the spelling. I remember Joan Hopkins and Helen Duffin who I think has since died. I was actually in 2 year groups as I stayed down for a year to "catch up".

I went to Ullathorne from 1954 to 57. I was in 2b. I loved school but was bullied by two girls whose names will be forever in my memory, because of my accents. I had come over from Ireland. I had to get 2 buses home to Bell Green. It was a long day. I had Miss Ager as a teacher and Mrs Frith. I do remember Miss Stephenson with her red hair and a green suit. Miss Healy was her deputy. She was very strict.
