Not easy when under pressure in a studio with cameras and other things around you, plus knowing the world could be watching your every move and response.
How well did the contestant do?Mike "Yesterday I was a child of the sixties…. Today I’m a cynical adult…"

I'm not aware of the contestant being one of our members. He did very well though: 12 out of 13, only failing to get the name "Joan Ward", the lady burnt at the stake in 1511 for heresy. I also got that one wrong, plus I didn't know the name of the "Cobden-Chevalier Treaty" in 1860, which led to the weaving industry collapse, so I only got 11 out of 13. Still quite pleased with that, though.

I just googled him and he is a professor of Mental Health now based in Gloucester with his own practice so clearly a very bright fellow. As you say he did very well and I wish him the best of luck in future rounds. I think I got 9 answers right, some of the questions were really easy.

Thank you so much for your open honesty. I didn't get any wrong! I forgot to watch it, so I didn't get anything right either.
I clowned our first harvest hymn on Sunday morning. I should have been playing "We plough the fields & scatter", but I couldn't get "Come ye thankful people come" out of my head. Talk about a block stitch. That's the term for that scenario.
Block head I really was. A well notched up chapel as well.
The dinner was fabulous. One of our ladies had prepared a chicken Korma, in a rich cream, with the most fluffy boiled rice with peas. I can't remember a Korma that I enjoyed so much. More boy!
I shouldn't mention names, so thank you Zara. Then Ena's apple pie with fresh cream. My friend sat by me, tucked into Wendy's lasagne. He went back for more of that as well.
He's our classical guitarist, who helped pick me up, earlier.
I will try & watch a repeat this evening.
Thank you all for your openness. That is heartening to everyone.

Mastermind contestant chose The History of Coventry as his specialist subject. Take a look. What would you have scored? I was quite pleased with my miserable 5. Being an OB of Bablake one question was certainly a gimme. How well do you do?

Does anybody remember a previous Mastermind several years ago with an elderly female contestant whose speciality subject was the Coventry Blitz. Sadly she didn't qualify for the next round but I do recall seeing her interviewed on other programmes about the Blitz.

	Hello,
I've copied this from another topic.
I watched the Mastermind episode yesterday. I got two ok, plus one iffy. That puts me in prospective. I'm no clever-dick. My trade has always been comparing documents to see what makes sense. That's why I love our forum. Watching members compare info, tying it up with maps, diagrams, memories. Please don't ever stop. Time was quite a factor regards my dismal score. A bit more time & I might have scored much better. As an auditor, I wasn't call flogger for no reason. It sometimes took a while for the penny to drop.
