Thank you for that, Dutchman. Your word 'roar' was what it was. I had taken pictures of a builders roof-topping ceremony, so my camara was in hand & I snapped the pic. The Thompson plane was about half an hour later. For you I will post a special pic.

I was on a Bombardier (Ooops, musn't mention that name, must we..?) Dash 8 a few years ago that came into Norwich in rain, descending too fast and too steeply. But the pilot didn't even flinch! We landed with an almighty thump, then slewed along the runway with the engines screaming in reverse thrust, clouds of spray, and by the time he let the brakes off, about 25 degrees to the runway..... Not a nice experience!! I'm not sure which is most unpleasant, aborting the landing or going for it....!

Er, rob....HELP!!!!!!! Are you working on the Gallery feature again? It won't let me create a new category.....! And now, after about 12 attempts, I've given up......

Whoops! Sorry Keith! And thanks Midland Red you were quite right, I've been (hard?) at work.... well, at work anyway! I was going to go straight out tonight, but thought I'd have a quick look on the forum to see what's happening - and as it turns out it's a good job I did! I made a small change last night to improve the way multiple photos are added, and it had a knock-on affect on the category page. I quickly realised what it was though (the page sent an array where it should've been a single variable, if that means anything to anyone), and it's now working again. Right, as we were.... Must have had the Fates - or the variables - arrayed against you then!! Or was it a bit of Boolean illogicality ....?

Some interesting mid-Victorian photographs here LINK (I know they're not Coventry photos, but interesting nonetheless.) My great-grandfather was a soldier in India, and fought during the Indian Mutiny, so these pics are quite poignant for me.

Hopefully I haven't broken anything this time, but you might notice a "Last updated" addition to the gallery.... thanks to Tony for the suggestion. TBFN

Could I please enquire to Rob is there a limit on how many pictures can be added to this new gallery as I notice Philip made a concern on flooding the gallery, or even how many different topics can be added please

Rob, hi again! May I make another (hopefully) useful suggestion? When you edit the photos in a gallery, would it be possible to include an "Update All" button please? As it is, if you alter more than one photo, it only updates that one; since most of my photos - and probably a lot of other peoples' - are numbered rather than titled, I put them into a gallery with e.g. 'QQ', 'WW' etc titles, then put the titles in as changes, so it would be useful to do a group update. And also, because as you change titles, it changes the order of the photos to alphabetical, based on the new titles. Incidentally, is there any reason why it won't allow you to insert a photo without a title? I hope this is more useful feedback!

Hi Keith, I don't know how you knew this, but that idea has been on my "to do" list for quite a while! However, with more urgent matters, Christmas, family, work, etc. going on I hadn't yet found the time to look into it! But.... you'll be pleased to learn that I've spent tonight doing just that, and now, when you have a whole category of images to edit, there's just the one button at the bottom of the page to submit all changes simultaneously, at the same time, together, in one go, at once.... OK, you get the idea! Give it a try some time. I need a cup of tea now! I should've explained about the 'title' on the gallery, but along with many things that got overlooked. Anyway, I've made each category sort the images by the title, so as well as being a field for a brief description of the image, you can also use it to number you images 01, 02, 03, ....etc., so it has it's uses and must have something, however brief, in it. As you can probably tell, from the fact that my gallery looks unlike anything else on the world wide web, it's not a clone of any other gallery, or a franchised piece of software - it's just a home-made thing, a hobby that I found to be a fun technical challenge and created purely by typing text and stuff into something akin to Notepad until something nice appears on the screen, so it'll probably never be perfect, but it'll be as good as I can possibly make it. With your patience, help and ideas, I can hopefully make it pretty darned usable too! Right, that cuppa has just arrived.... she's a good'un my wife! Rob
