Thank you Anne she should have got a close up of this swastika at the Cathedral ruins I don't know what the secret about taking photos of the ruins are when they are all over the net. They can put an app on where you can see every aeroplane live where they fly over the UK pinpointing even what is flying over your home, which I would have thought would be secret. No wonder planes go missing. Then google showing everything.

Where in Coventry was once known as the gateway to hell? Where in Coventry once stood a structure of a man which stood 150 feet high? Where in Coventry could gondolas be seen?

@morgana: I only knew about St. Catherine's Well because I had been looking into its history recently as I was curious when I passed it a few days ago. Guess the locals spread the rumour that it was some sort of scary gateway in an attempt to stop children from playing near it and falling in???
Thanks for the quiz, always good to have something to think about Thumbs up

It was to keep the people away Garlands Joke Shop I would assume not to pollute or take the water. Did you climb up to see it, I have prior to the fencing, shame they blocked it off. The Zulu at the zoo was 35ft tall. Yes quizzes keep the brain active and folks always like to try and solve the unknown. Thank you.

No sorry Norm it's not a rail wagon which I speak of. All 3 answers are already on this bit of thread so look and read carefully.

Morgana, You say look to the Railway club, which would mean that my answer would be wrong. I was thinking of the decorations that used to hang from the ceiling of Cathedral lanes. I am nothing, if not honest Wink

Bohica I have given a big clue in my post to Normk of where all the answers lie. Thank you for your honesty but no your answer is not right either, which you will see when some one solves the answers to the other two left to solve.

Morgana. The gondolas you refer to are in a painting in the Railway Club and are of Spon Gate Bridge Thumbs up

I have a bit of a theory (?): are these places all connected in some way to the River Sherbourne and myths or tales. The first: St. Catherine's Well which had a legend about it being a supernatural gateway and which also flows into the Sherbourne. The Second: Spon Gate Bridge over the same river and unlike the painting was unlikely to have had gondolas in the river. I think I know the third, but I'm not going to guess yet; but I believe it follows the same pattern as the first two (?) Cheers Luke. Smile

Yes Garlands Joke Shop Luke same one. The piece with the gondolas could be punters as I've seen similar on old English pottery on the moat Warwick Castle which look like gondolas. You do have to enlarge the one of the 150ft man if your eyes are not too good.
