What a delight to see MR, thank you for the pictures. Now then Philip you make me want to go outside and jump on the nearest bus. I am waiting for your book i.e. 'Rambling Round The Midlands'. Is there anywhere you have not been yet ? Big grin Wave (what a silly question!)

Hi & thank you Dreamtime, Wave MR's pics are so good that I keep setting them to slow slide-show. Not only are there loads of places that I have yet to discover, but how many have I travelled passed & not realise what I have missed. Oh my

Les Ross Always enjoyed him on the wireless, especially his long distance phone calls to listener's relatives in far flung lands, always enjoyable. Reminded me about the bus reunion in May 2010 when Les was the guest of honour. Not sure how it happened but we kept each other company for the day. A nice man, excellent company as we rode round Coventry, Bedworth and Nuneaton on a wonderful selection of old buses.

There are small patches of bluebells all over the west side of Coventry this week in people's front gardens and beside footpaths.

Hi all Wave The recent spell of fine weather has really lit my appetite for reminiscing to some of my old train-spot haunts. It has also been a delight for me to have travelled last Wednesday with one of our forum friends, where we visited Stratford-upon-Avon, the new Park-&-Ride station as well as B'ham Moor St. station. We then went on to visit Stourbridge, including a ride in a bubble-car-train. Class139 Yesterday, I decided to explore the Worcestershire side, using another of these Midland Day Ranger Tickets, which I bought at Coventry station. I spent time at Worcester recording pictures of semaphore signals at the old Shrub Hill station as well as moving on & spending a couple of hours at the Severn Valley Railway station at Kidderminster. I will finish off with just a few pictures of a grand day out from Coventry, so perfectly situated for getting out & about. Worcester Shrub Hill This last picture is a gem for me. It shows what is called a ground signal, but raised up onto a signal post so that the driver of a train can see the state of point-work that he may be reversing into. Just to show off, I have one of these on our Hall Brooks railway. Big grin

I enjoy your travelling Philip even though I do not comment a lot but I do look, I thought of you the other day when inside a house was a railway carriage which a lady bought years ago to live in it and is still there. It was on the secret houses of Britain. Smile

Wave You're very welcome Philip, you certainly are useful to me anyway and I am sure others on this forum too, even your weather forecast comes in handy for me. Cheers
