The station building to the left is still used by Bablake School - the signal box was demolished only a year or so ago.

Can someone who has knowledge of these things please let me know some info on the Coventry to Leamington train service? I can see from my "Train Times" phone app that there appears to be an hourly service each-way. Although this train travels past Kenilworth, does Kenilworth have a station as the "Discover Kenilworth" page on WarwickDC web site states that if visiting Kenilworth, the nearest railway station is Coventry or Leamington, then suggests the visitor gets a taxi! Finally, how many carriages does this service have? (I guess this will depend on the size of the platform at Leamington station)

The service between the two is run by Cross Country Trains - I believe it is generally hourly each way (the journey time isn't very long, 10-15 minutes at the most). Trains are normally made-up of 4 or 5 carriages - more if those DMU's are joined together. There is no station at Kenilworth (although there are plans to commence construction on a new one in c.2017) you'll have to use public transport - Stagecoach Midlands and National Express Coventry run bus services between the two, or use a taxi.

Hi all Wave Just done a bit of brass cleaning, hope you like. The driver's side nameplate from Hall class 5920. Last shed plate 83A. Newton Abbot, its last location before withdrawal. I have not got a photo of the loco, in spite of thirty years of searching. I might have to make up a model & photograph that.

Hi all Wave That is brill, Binkey11. Thank you very much. For a time, the loco was locally shedded, being at Churchdown in its early life before finishing up in the West Country. When first built, it was allocated to Leamington, I believe, when Leamington had a shed. ps. I am popping into Coventry in an hour, hopefully aboard the 10.28 Ninky-Nonk from the Ricoh. If you do use the service for getting into the city, the bus services from Coventry station are good. The 8, 8a, 9, 9a & U services all travel via Little Park St & the Council House, whilst services 6 & 6a travel via Corporation St.
