Hi all Wave My Pam battles on day to day in her bed-sit lounge in Holbrooks. She was given her fourth chemo on Monday morning at UHCW, which has knocked her so bad. We are currently being encouraged by medics, that her set-back since Monday is a direct consequence of the treatment, chemo being described by one medical expert as an internal machine-gun, where each shell fired is an explosive in itself. I have never known her so ill since the four weeks prior to Christmas. Yet, she still gives me encouragement. She has always been my best asset. Going back to the beginning of last November, when the chief of oncology gave us the grimmest news imaginable, so bad that he could not give Pam daylight to see last Christmas Day, all Pam could do was to apologise to me for bringing this deluge onto me!! I ask you! What does loom large in both of our lives at present is the kindnesses and love being shown to us both as we cope day to day. So please, we say a huge thank you to you, our friends, the medical staff, day nurses and so on, for helping us in this illness of Pam's. Wave

We've come to know Pam over the last few years, Anne, and she certainly is a lovely person - so too is 'Our Philip', and if any couple doesn't deserve this ongoing agony, it is this one. They are constantly in our thoughts and prayers.

My thoughts are with you Philip and my very good wishes go to your wife Pam in her fight for recovery. Tell her from me to keep up the fight no matter how hard. I myself am undergoing R-CHOP Chemotherapy at the moment, mine started December 27 at UHCW. I can only endorse and expand on the praise given to the Cancer unit there, they have been wonderful to me and I can see the light at the end of my tunnel. Praying for you Pam. #youwillbeatit #iwillbeatit

Hi all and to our friend Herberts lad in Exhall, Our very best wishes for you too. Pam has two separate breeds of cancer, which makes life very interesting for the Oncology team. The team could not even perform a biopsy in November, it was like porridge sticking to every part of her lower body organs. That is why her prognosis was so grim. So we live each day at a time, grateful for the passion to achieve by her consultant & working team in the Oncology department. At home we currently have a team of nutrition nurses who connect her to a night nutrition feed, then disconnect in the morning. Prior to last weekend, she also had her medication administered direct by mechanical syringes, but a slight improvement means that she is able to take what she needs orally.
