I know Philip is a big fan of the Earl of Mercia (corner of High Street & Little Park Street), so maybe there? As for the time - I don't mind - whatever fits best with your outings-and-aboutings! |

Hi,
For my use yes, but for corporate events, the Flying Standard has advantages of having table flexibility.

OK, shall we say the Flying Standard then, on the Thursday, 22nd? I don't mind which day though, so if Friday works best then that's fine. How about the time.... mid morning, say 10:30-ish? If you prefer earlier or later, no problem. |

Thursday it is Rob. Can I suggest 11am, as that will give me plenty of time to come in from Leamington and find somewhere to park. Also is the 'Flying Standard' the old Timothy White's at the top of Trinity Street? |

Sounds like we have a plan then.... 11 a.m. on Thursday, 22nd, at the Timothy White's branch of Wetherspoon's! I'm looking forward to it.
Shall we wait near the Trinity Street entrance, to make finding each other easier?

Although you haven't met me before, I have a good idea from previously posted photos what both you and Philip look like, so if you grab a table I'll find you easily or if I'm earlier I'll keep an eye on the door! I also look forward to it. it's been a long time coming!! |

This is just a thought.............
If you guys are getting together at the pub or elsewhere around 11am - by the way, that's a bloody late brekky - that could permit some of us in Aussie to participate if someone there had their computer active. Breakfast at 9pm my time might be a stretch too far (Dreamtime would be a slightly more respectable 7pm), but I'm sure we could get bacon and eggs smells wafting past our laptops at the appropriate times. And a decent Pommie beer (or three) would be the perfect accompaniment! I'm licking my lips already!
Just a thought.............

It's actually just a coffee and not bacon & eggs, Johnnie, but maybe the smell of filtered coffee might waft through! |

Hi all,
What a fabulous meet up. A couple arrived from across the pond that we had no idea of. Another surprise was our correspondent from Oxfordshire.
Thank you, Bev, our coffee hostess.

It was very brill indeed, being able to put a face to yet another of our esteemed members from north of the border, a nice surprise visitor from just 60 miles south of here.... and an extremely, unexpectedly pleasant surprise from across the pond from lindatee2002, who was "just passing by". What a huge but lovely coincidence! Three cheers.... |

I had a fantastic time, especially being able at long last to put a face to a name, although it was easy for me to pick out Rob and Philip who were kindly waiting for me.
Furthermore, I owe a huge debt of gratitude to a Moderator who had gone to enormous trouble to search my maternal Family History and bring the results today, it was greatly appreciated, especially having travelled a long way to bring it.
Finally, can I thank Bev & Rob for getting all the coffees! Thank you for taking the time to meet up and it was lovely to meet Lindatee2002 and her husband. |
