Perhaps the developers have been waiting for the governments U-turn on urban development?

It's amazing that there has been an offer on the table for 9 months without any action!!

I take it that the owners want it to become such a nuisance that they will be allowed change of use to housing or business? They wouldn't want to accept an offer to return the site to its original purpose - especially as the new company could go back on their promise and then try to change the land use designation and get the higher premium on the land. Sport is going to be in a precarious position for some time.
