Hey, no need to apologise - our Coventry girls will always take precedence over a pile of old stone! I had the best of both worlds though... I married my Coventry girl with a pretty face in a historic building - our medieval registry office! Lol

Dancing with my would be wife at Courtaulds dance one week before we got married. So what was you and mother talking about this afternoon? 'Oh she was giving me worldly advice' Like what? Said you hadn't got two pennies to rub together. 'Oh' said you hadn't done an honest day's work in the last ten years. 'Mother said that' 'Yes said the longest time you were with one firm, was the Army, you couldn't get away. 'Oh that's great' minute or two later, 'There was more, but I'll tell you after were married' "Aw come on no secrets you said' She said if your like your father, you will be like an Aussie soldier, 'What's that mean' She said four seconds of action and you go walk about. 'lets go get a drink'.

Pixrobin, my own mother, and maybe you could be right, or then again? But I hadn't lived at home for ten years. During the fifties most people got as far as Blackpool, Skegness, once a year, remember. But I preferred Amsterdam, Ostend, Paris, Cannes, Switzerland and Italy many times a year, so I didn't really give a damn what people thought, at that time. But like I said earlier, when I married I completely changed my lifestyle, like everyone else I needed a house and mortgage, and family life was a different 'kettle of fish'. In 1958 I was completely wiped out by 'con' men but that's another story.

I was going to say, before I made a mess of things, there was a large place in A.Green Rd/Lentons Lane that was used as a dance hall during the war, for how long I do not know as I left the area in 44. I believe there was many such places in Coventry at that time. Here today gone tomorrow.

Ah Dutchman, your father was a wise man, and all the time I thought it was your own wisdom about Coventry. Joking apart, there was some sort of study, survey, in the newspapers about Coventry, Nottingham and Leicester and the large numbers of pretty females, have no idea of newspaper or date. Regards Kaga.
