Hi all Wave Another Wednesday, the sun streaming through our window, as I contemplate a bacon butty at the Belgrade this morning. Or should it be sausage, a tea cake or even a panini. I am keeping an eye on whatever date is fixed for our forum breaky at wherever. One of our members did not have such a good word for Wetherspoons on his most recent visit. Most places get things wrong sometimes, even Harrods. The best thing about Wetherspoons for me is the huge variety, including porridge and the fact that it is in the centre. Anyway, whatever you are up to, have a good one. The sun may stay out for most of today, but out of the sun, the wind is chilly. Thumbs up

Hi all Wave A sad day for Pam and I as I am booked to play for a relative's funeral that we are attending this morning. As if that was not enough, I have been asked to play for another funeral at another city church next week, so please, will you all stop getting old. I am not morbid by nature, so much enjoying being out and about, which makes me all the sadder, because not everyone enjoys the fullness of living like I do, and most of us on our forum appear to. My deceased relative was institutionalised for most of her life. We just don't know what folks have to contend with or the understanding of minds. I was a volunteer with a couple of Coventry charities over the years including Coventry Mind, so became aware of some of these difficulties. What ever you are up to, please enjoy and stop getting old!

Hi all Wave "Together, we are bigger than the sum of our parts". My first venture onto our forum site here was over half a decade ago when I was in search of some historical information. I had no idea that it would lead to a social involvement as it has. My knowledge of IT can still be written on a postage stamp, but even that is a thousand times more than before. The delights of meeting friends from thousands of miles away, as well as those within the UK is without parallel. Those that I have not physically met, our closeness via our forum is such that I feel the body chemistry. Years ago, my early involvements with video conferencing left me cold, as an important factor in business is feeling the chemistry. When I am in Coventry city centre when I am walking or sitting by or close to loads of folk, but there is no chemistry. Contrast that with my bacon butty meets, with our forum friends from time to time, where the chemistry is so strong that I want to walk off with them. That is how I feel when I read so many of our posts, even for folk that I have not physically met. I am sure that I am not on my own with these senses, where we feel the vibes of issues that are affecting each of us. To say that I could not live without our forum would be silly, but I dread ever such a day. Have a good day all. Happy

Hi all, Wave on what might be the most spring-like day of the week. Happy The overnight mist and fog has sadly caught some out, with at least one fatality near junction one of the M6. I am meeting the clerics at the Belgrade this morning, being Wednesday, then on to play for a funeral at a church in Coundon. The no.5 or 7 will get me there. I was sharing with a close forum friend that most pianists and organists are at work in the daytime, so the barrel is scraped to find deputies. The church venue today is where my son plays regularly, so I have to behave. Anyway, what ever you are up to, have a good one, and please be kind to our down-under friends, as the UK is celebrating thirty years of "Neighbours". Actually, I have fab neighbours. Wave Thumbs up

Hi all Wave With another breaky meeting complete, members might be tempted think that no thought is given to the meetings, but nothing could be further misguided. Rob and the team are already working feverishly on the next meeting, engaging visiting speakers on a variety of topics. High on the agenda for our next meeting is how to consume a vanilla slice without the cream squishing out of the sides. I cannot recall the other topics, as at that point I awoke! With a rather "yuk" weather day today, and a forecasted mixed "yuk" week, whatever you are up to, please enjoy. Life is too short not to. Thumbs up

Wow, I look forward to that, it's a skill I desperately need to learn! I love vanilla slices, but dread eating them in public due to uncontrollably squirting cream (or custard, I like both) in all directions. If a future guest speaker could perhaps teach us things like how to suck spaghetti silently, eat a doughnut without dribbling jam down your chin, or lick a plate clean without anyone noticing (I favour diversionary tactics), those would be essential skills learned. Thumbs up

Thank you all, I spent most of yesterday at a funeral. Although playing, I would have been there anyway.
