I remember going on a trip to Slimbridge Wild Fowl Trust (Peter Scott) and a nearby Castle from Freddies Junior School (chocolate spread sandwiches!). I was probably about 9 or 10 in 1958/59. It must have been quite a long coach trip being pre-M5. I think we went to London once too to the Natural History Museum.

I went to Chace Junior School Willenhall where they did take us on some trips to zoos etc. I remember going to London on the train on one occasion. However on moving to Whitley Abbey School the only trips we went on were with the Geography teacher Mrs Rosbottom, she organised the trips around Coventry mostly the likes of factories, dairies and bakeries etc, unfortunately the way we repaid her for the effort she had gone to was to misbehave and no doubt embarrass her. I have often thought about this over the years and even now at 66years old I still feel guilty about this. I do know that she has now passed on. God bless you Mrs Rosbottom.

At Coventry Prep school, it was 'Janet and John' whose collective efforts put me off reading fiction for my entire life.. circa 1958.. Sad

Tricia, I think the picture is of an infants class at St Mary's and I remember you posting that you went straight to the juniors.
