Just had an idle thought. Apart from Lady Godiva, has anyone ever heard of another person called Godiva ? Is our lady uniquely named ?

Hi Walrus, good question. It's a modified version of her real name which was Godgifu or gift from God. There were several recorded at the right time and it probably explains why it's hard to exactly pin her down. One Godgifu in particular has a strong connection with Ely and I don't think that they're the same person. There would have been others who weren't in the records.
