Following the successful re-instatement of the markers mentioned by Midland Red yesterday in the City Boundary Markers topic, I wonder when the Council will return the "Rearing horse" structure (known as "Trigger") to the Friargate Development - mentioned by Jaytob in the very first post in this topic. It was originally removed to make way for the development and for "refurbishment" - the City Council originally claiming that certain parts needed strengthening - and later declaring that it would not return to an open-air position. This decision was refuted when a friend of the artist (and also a specialist metal-worker) suggested live on BBC-CW that he could easily perform the work required, at a fraction of the Councils estimated cost, to return the sculpture to it's former glory. So come on CCC, how about putting it back where it belongs rather than keeping it in a box in storage? Thumbs up

It's been announced this morning that the development of our new "business district" around the railway station could be on hold after the City Council reveal they are not attracting the numbers expected to Friargate. It turns out they now expect to share their new "Friargate 1" building with the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (who were originally moving into a different building) whilst leaving many of the Council staff in their original locations. Lets hope things pick up! Oh my

Apparently the funding is already there for building 2, but they need to act quickly to keep RICS in the city. Friargate was always going to be a long term project, tied up with station improvements and better train links to surrounding towns. Current situation in the UK is hardy going to help, as well. This is the best chance Coventry has of getting a business district in the city centre.

The proposed block looks good, and has been aligned at an angle. Far better than the previous proposal for this site.
