Yes, Neil looking in the newspaper it appears they were first running 1905 and replaced by buses in 1937. |

And here's that Earlsdon terminus again, but later. St Barbara's was built 1929-31, this is 1932. I like the Market Street ad!
Tram Driver: ALFRED "NEMO" OWEN pictured there and this photo was taken (probably by his conductor) by using Alfred's own camera, which he (Alfred) often carried with him! |

Colcov, during the early fifties I worked at Cartwright's timberyard a couple of times for a short time, it was in the Canal Basin, on the left hand side looking from Bishop Street, next to the plumbing shop, one stack of timber was in between the two canals, got burnt down once, I never saw a tram, or heard of one mentioned, but then I was dumb to them things in those days.
An advert here for Cartwright, as featured on the back of a 7d tram ticket!

Hi all,
Please note the tram rails in the middle of the road going over Courtaulds canal bridge, Foleshill Road, 1942.
The end first floor window was my first office as a trainee accountant. The ground floor became surgery.

Intrigued by this one shared by Dean Nelson on FB. Where would this be do we think? The windows behind in the centre look like they belong to a place of worship?

What a stunning photo of these lovelies and what a responsibility they took on. The pride they must have had knowing they could do this work. I wonder what they went on to do after the war? Any guesses? |

If you look at the closest window it looks more like a security window to me, so could it be a factory ? What about the Ordnance works ? |
