The tram was sited at the Harnall Lane West and Springfield Road junction on land where the Polish Church stands. It was put there about March 1941 until after the war. I think this would have been when Cartwright moved to the Canal Basin site. The Coventry Telegraph printed a story and photo of the tram when it was placed at this site. I wonder if the Telegraph have records of this article.
Anne just wondered if you could find any record of this in the newspaper archives if you get a chance?

Wouldn't it be wonderful if you could have one of those as a shed? |

You can have one as a shed, tram 32 is still waiting for a good home! (might have to do a bit of work on it). |

Looking at the pictures it would be easier to build a new one. |

Helen, do you think the neighbours would have anything to say? Although, I admire any man who would take on a restoration on that scale.

Note the bars round the bottom of tram, stop kids from rolling under if hit. |

As per #183 earlier in this thread - I last visited tram 32 in June 2019. When the weather gets better I'll go and take another look though it looks certain it's beyond doing anything with now. |

I visited tram 32 last summer - there was a well trodden path through the wood. I sat on the seat, but didn't risk putting my weight on it. I don't think it would survive an attempt to move it.

Yes, we did that Peter. Seems to be a bit of a pilgrimage to those that know about it. We did try to get the Council interested as per my earlier posts but they went silent when they realised costs would be involved. Same with the tram museum and The Herbert. If I win Lotto I'll buy it and stick it in the Transport Museum. It's beyond repair but still worth trying to preserve as is. |

A couple of nice tram pictures I just ordered, with the backdrop of Broadgate before and after they demolished Butcher Row. In the second photo it looks like they had started demolishing the buildings that were to be replaced by the Prudential building.
