The whole film is back to front. When you know this, it is clear that the first part of the film is at the ford in Kenilworth.

What a valuable forum this is, for me, Without it, I would never have known or dreamed of investigating a valuable part of my own history, in fact having lived part of my life in Allesley next door to Triumph in Meriden, it comes as a lovely surprise to know another snippet of Coventry`s vast history. Thanks to you all for the enlightenment

At last after over 100+ years the City of Coventry gets recognition that it made motorcycles in 'The Classic Motorcycle' magazine' supplement, and had 116 manufacturers of them over time. Most call Coventry a Motorcar city but forget about the Bicycles and Motorcycles made here over time that came before them .

Both my parents worked for Triumph at Meriden for over 20 years, mum in packing and dad an auto setter. I had a Tiger Cub and a Thunderbird with sprung hub and a double Watsonian sidecar to carry my family, fantastic days. I was lucky enough a few weeks ago to pick up a book of the history with photographs dating from 1902-1993, £1 on a carboot.

A few interesting images here, though they've confused the Priory Street works with the Meriden bike plant. I'd be interested to hear anything about the 'Coventry City' ship!

Here she is, 'Coventry City' is being loaded with new crated up Triumphs, not sure where the dock is though but more than likely USA bound as about 90% of Meriden bikes went to the USA.
