Looking at planning records "Linos" was demolished in 2006 and the land is now occupied by flats. Bye-bye to Linos (Coventry Telegraph)

As it's been mentioned on here a few times - thanks to Paul Daly on FB for the photo - I think I'm right in saying the same building is still just about there clinging on in a lost corner of old Lower Ford Street (the old K2 building?)

Hi NeilsYard, Looking at Google Street View I don't think its the same building. K2 doesn't have the "crenellation" below the gutter and the solid band between ground and first floors is missing.

Could it be the same Bridge Terrace that's shown on this map? The location is between the two areas shaded green. Zoom in to see. I think this is the link address

This numbered plan on Old-Maps would seem to confirm it. Seems to have been demolished c1970. Now under the Gosford Gate student accommodation.

I've had another look at the maps. What I thought were new buildings look like the old courtyards. Sad

There was once an African Caribbean cafe on the Foleshill Road close to Courtaulds. I've just looked at Google Earth but it's difficult to pinpoint exactly where it stood as it's changed so much in recent years but I believe it was somewhere near what is a Hire Station opposite the junction of Lythalls Lane. Anyway the point of my post is that I had reason to go in one day to fix the faulty telephone line. Many, many hours later I eventually left having fixed the phone in a few minutes. It was a hoot, I was made so welcome, I didn't want to leave and didn't get much done for the remainder of the day, but hey that's life and I left one very happy subscriber. Anyone remember it?

Can anyone help? I seem to remember back in the 1960s that there was a hairdressers in Jubilee Crescent which also had a counter and stools where you could buy coffee. It would have been between the Godiva Fish Bar and Sharman's newsagents. Is this a false memory?

1950ish, Broadgate House had an American style coffee shop, a lookalike to the one in the 'Cheers' series years later, only the sofa faced into Broadgate, but the counter and machines were on the right hand side, the same. It was supposed to have been in the same spot as the old coffee shop next to the mayor's parlour in olden times.

My mother Ruby worked in a cafe in that location in 1960/62 but not sure if it was this cafe. It was owned by a fella called Gordon Batchelor. My mother now has dementia but keeps referring to this cafe. Do you have any other info. She says Teddy Boys used to go in regularly, that it was always full with music & laughter.

Remember a cafe about 3-4 doors down from the newsagents on the corner of Owenford but do not recall it being a hairdressers or barbers,as we as kids went to the barbers at the bottom of Foleshill bridge. Memory not so good as that was pre-56
