He was also a rail enthusiast & I met him several times along with Pete Waterman, when they grouped together at the model shop in Sewall Highway, over twenty to thirty years ago. He even brought a group of friends to a music evening when I was involved with 'Turners Musical Merry-go-round' near to Northampton, again along time ago. Could we be talking about the same Graham? Wave
HELLO PHILIP, THE GRAHAM YOU KNEW WAS A DRIVER THEN INSPECTOR, KNOWN AS GRAHAM SHAW, I BELIEVE HE LEFT COVENTRY TO LIVE IN THE GLOUCESTER AREA A FEW YEARS AGO. I HOPE THIS INFO IS SUFFICIENT FOR YOU.
Thank you so much, I am sure that is who it is. Bril. Wave

The following article describes 'The New Motor Bus Service' in Coventry, it was dated 22nd January 1914. Coventry Motor 'Bus Service EXPECTED TO COMMENCE NEXT MONTH. It is expected that the new municipal motor 'bus service in Coventry will be commenced towards the latter end of February. It will be remembered that in October last the Tramways Committee obtained the sanction of the City Council to proposal to expend £4,434 in the purchase of six motor omnibuses to serve the traffic needs, of the Upper Stoke district, and powers to run motor 'bus services within the municipal boundary were obtained in the Corporation's last private Act of Parliament. A ten minutes' service will be provided between Upper Stoke and the centre of the City from 7.30 a.m. to a time which will depend on the traffic conditions and will probably be about 11 p.m. It will be understood that in its early stages the new motor 'bus service will be somewhat of an experimental nature. Motor 'bus 6 will start from opposite the Fire Station in Hales Street and will run via Stoney Stanton Road, Harnall Lane East, Heath Road, and Clay Lane to Upper Stoke, proceeding by way of the Walsgrave Road, Far Gosford Street, Gosford Street, and Jordan Well to a point High Street opposite the now Municipal Buildings. Simultaneously other motor 'buses will be traversing the same route in the opposite direction and ten minute service each way will be kept up. This will utilise five of the new vehicles, leaving the sixth a spare, which may be used as for an experimental service and from Broadgate and Earlsdon on Saturdays and possibly at busy hours of the week days, though with only one spare motor 'bus it will obviously not be possible to do much in this direction at first. The whole service will provide very useful experiment as to the possibilities of motor 'buses in Coventry as an auxiliary to the tramway system and if successful will probably lead to larger developments. And I found some more details on the fares for w/e 28th June 1914. COVENTRY CORPORATION TRAMWAY AND MOTOR 'BUS TRAFFIC. The summary of traffic of Coventry Corporation Tramways for the week ended 28th June last shows receipts £840 0s 5d., passengers carried 164,151. The figures for week ended 29th June, 1913, were £818 7s. and 160,993. The Corporation omnibuses returns are traffic receipts £156 19s. 11d., passengers carried 32,285.

This is the unit repair fitting shop. There are 2 more engine stands, gearbox stand, and axle stand opposite. The first fitter is Albert Lane in his final year of apprenticeship, he is line boring the crankshaft main bearings of an AEC engine, next is William Moorcroft and Frank Barraclough both working on AEC engines. At the far end behind the partition is the welding and blacksmith shop.
