Thanks Dave, cannot find anyone but will keep looking, however I know all the teachers especially Mr Douglas, got very good at dodging blackboard rubbers. Played rugby at school and used to go to Coundon Road with a mate of mine, Mr Douglas came and sat next to us chatted about rugby all the way through then bought a cake and drink in the clubhouse, we all have different memories. Nice to chat, getting a bit nostalgic about Coventry, left a long time ago. Cheers, Paul.

Thinking about it, does anyone remember Miss Strong (Vera), maths, or Miss Proffitt, art?

Ha Paul, I think her name was Val Strong, suffered with curved spine. She was a very friendly person and used to run an after school programme where we could use the gymnasium, play badminton and just hang out. For us students that were locked out of the house until a parent got home, it was a great service and she did it on her own in her own time. I think she passed away several years ago.

I met my future wife playing badminton after school. We have been together now for 56 years, it's amazing how the years have flown by.

I have been doing some family research. My grandfather and his brothers all attended Freddies and lived at 373 Swan Lane opposite the school. My mother became a teacher at the junior school from 1950 until 1963. Her name was Sheila Bullock. My father taught in the boys secondary. His name was John Bullock. His best friend was Tom Locksley who also taught there. Would love to hear from anyone who might remember them

Hi! I went to Freddie’s 1948 to 1958 and I had Mrs Bullock as a teacher. I must admit I was a little afraid of her as she was quite strict. I don’t recall a Mr Bullock from the boys school though.

Wonderful photo, Stephen, thank you so much. Do you know which year it was taken? I hope that some of our members will recognise a family member. Thumbs up
