Hello, I haven't lost the enjoyment of playing trains. I like pretending that I live there. A simple life that's as far away from reality on earth as can be. I've described the two Liddle ornaments that we have on our railway. The windmill that's far away in the corner of the railway. It blends beautifully in the scene, next to where the canal service building stands. The windmill positioned so trying to give a,sense of distance with fir trees behind.

I'm always fascinated by the time and passion model makers put into their world(s) in miniature. The hours and attention to detail is second to none, whether as an individual, family or club.

Hello, Spring & Autumn time daylight is for me the perfect time to get colouring detail right. For an hour this morning, I applied colouring to the buffers of this tank loco. Steel tarnishes within hours outdoors, the colour of the tarnish denotes its history.

Hello, Hopefully in recovery mode, I've spent a bit of time playing trains! Southern class 700 0-6-0 tender loco shunting in Grove. Engine shed hired out to a preservation society. Colliery loco being overhauled. Telephoto of Bramble Lane curve.

Hello, I had to get the camera at an odd angle & position to record this picture. The letter N, on the signal referred to Netherfield. But recently the line has been extended to Neils Yard. As that begins with an N, I don't need to change the branch notification on the signal. The line on the right with the coaching stock is Hounds Hill Goods yard & loading bay. Coaching stock is shunted into there for cleaning & parcel loading when the daytime goods traffic has vacated it. The empty line going straight on goes to Priorsfield. They are both streets in Radford. I bet Anne can tell us the history of the names. The beauty of fiddle-yards is that we can make them be whatever we want, because they cannot be seen. They are in effect off stage in theatre language.

Hello, My friends absolutely superb spacious model railway with a V2 running. I do hope you like. V2 Model in action. In all of my life, I've never seen a model railway to match the shear atmosphere as my friend has here. My only input is that he uses my design coach corridor connectors.

Hello Helen, I hope our Neil approves? Our railway, I could have opted for an open landscape like my friends railway, even if I had the skills & space that he has. In rural settings, land was cheep so railways & sidings were open & sprawling. On our Hall Brooks (based around where I live), there's not room to have such in reality. Siding accommodation was & remains at a premium, almost scrunched up. Foleshill Station was often used as a head shunt because of lack of siding space. That's my excuse anyway.

Hello, If you enjoyed watching the V2 Model video, Yorkshire Dales, (Mouldy Rasberry) has loads more & construction talking & explaining. He's the most modest of modellers, who so enjoys our hobby. His stone walls & Yorkshire stone buildings are exquisite in design & construction. I've seriously considered stone walling our Penny Park five arch viaduct that I scratch built, but when I offered up to view, it was simply out of place. It's got to be either brick or very heavily weathered sandstone, which is what it is.

Hello, I'm watching Yorkshire Dales vidios. I've never seen an exhibition railway that thrills me like this does.

Hello, I've added a distant signal, replacing the shunt signal, at Bramble Lane crossing. It was also necessary to add a new lamp & maintenance ladder. Signalling is all about keeping trains apart. Our modern multi-aspect signals are a progress from the block section signalling system from mechanical signal box era. For a distant to be clear, that told the driver that the whole of the section he/she is entering is clear right through that section. Not just the state of the next signal which is how it is on most lines in the West Midlands. Please carry on now!

Hello, Mike59, Thank you. I usually think of it as our forum model railway. HallBrooks, a corruption of the name of where I live. Our viaduct goes across Penny park & so on. I call it playing trains.
