Hi, I am researching my uncle's RAF WW2 career. He was from Coventry, enlisted in 1938, and was called from the RAF Volunteer Reserve on 2nd September 1939 to "Coventry TC" I presume this means 'Training Centre' I've read of RAF bases at Baginton and Ansty, so I wonder if anyone knows which it might have been, or indeed, could it have been either! Thanks for any help Neil

The Volunteer Reserve used Ansty for flying training, they also used a large house on the Tamworth Road for midweek lectures.

covkidd I have learned that the "Coventry TC" actually means "Coventry Town Centre" - the RAF set up "Town Centres" and "Aerodrome Centres" - RAF Ansty would have been the latter, and the house on the Tamworth Road the former. Do you happen to know which house it was? From an article I was sent: "Volunteer Reservists in the aircraft crew section must be able and willing to attend for air training during alternate week-ends and on some summer evenings, and for ground instruction on two evenings a week" Neil
