Could the second shot be the farm/stable block for one of the Halls? eg Baginton?

I wonder if it's Stivichall Hall farm/stable block but the photo is back to front?

As a point of interest, the long s shapes on the map on various boundaries (like inside the courtyard to the roadway) signify that the two sides of the boundary belong to the same person/s.

Something rings a bell about this image, particularly the upper "loading" window. I had a nagging feeling that it was a farmhouse building near Wyken Slough, discussed on this forum some years ago. However, a search on the Slough and Alderman's Green topics has not turned up what I was hoping to see! Of course, it's quite possible (probable, actually!) that I'm wrong!

If the Cooper photo is Stivichall, then the view must be before 1912 as the bit that sticks out was demolished before that. It's still speculation as this layout might have existed at more than one farm/stable. It might be that both buildings with ivy were demolished at the same time and only the taller building rebuilt. Maybe even the whole north west wing. The single storey building looks like it was built of stone, suggesting a much older origin.

From the Coventry Society
"Styvechale Manor lies along the Leamington Road near to St. James' Parish Church. It became a private girls' school, Bremond College, prior to the Second World War but has subsequently reverted to accommodation use.
Styvechale Grange is a 17th century building that was for many years used as a farm house. Most of the land surrounding it was developed to accommodate a modern estate in the 1960s. The Grange itself was converted into apartments."
Very speculative - Stivichall seems to have had several grand ancient buildings but where the original hall was is unknown. Might it be that the photo shows part of that old hall, later relegated to a farm/stable block and the new hall built over what had been Stivichall village? The rear of the block held a sluice, Had the block originally been moated? I like to throw wild ideas out

I just bought three paintings by William Henry Brooke (1820), he of the wonderful Coventry sketchbook. While two are of Coventry (and say so) the third probably isn't. The only clues are the shop owners. I've done my usually poor search of the newspapers but nothing firm has come up. I still can't search the Herbert Archives so I'm in the dark. Any suggestions how I pursue this pair of businesses?

Can't match anything to the Pigots 1828 directory Helen. which is the earliest copy I have. I'll be honest and admit I had to lookup 'Chandler' as a trade!

As far as I know the Inn was behind the front row. You can just see the gable poking above the roof in the middle. The gates opened into the White Horse Yard, which you can see on the Bradford Map. Though, there may have been a point where it belonged to the inn.

I've not had a chance to delve in to the directories yet to see if a Post Office ties up with a Number 75 but this one has surfaced on FB purporting to be Coventry -

It doesn't ring a bell with me. I know of smaller post offices eg Gosford Street but this one looks quite large. The ones in the centre that I know of were Smithford Street and Greyfriars Lane. It might be somewhere further out of the centre or maybe a brief stay at a temporary location? It all looks quite old? Maybe pre 1900?
