Hi, I am trying to find out about the Fire Station in Jubilee Crescent during WWII - my granny worked as a cook there and lived as a single mom with 8 children at 93 Sadler Road (my grandad died in 1938). Sadly only 2 of the children survive and I am keen to refresh memories before it's too late. My uncle Donald Palmer says his mom Florrie Palmer used to walk to work at the fire station in Jubilee Crescent which he thinks was formed from 2 shops in Jubilee Crescent which were empty when war broke out. Does anyone have any memories or even photos.

I have seen a photo of the fire station, it was situated on the site of the Godiva fish and chip shop next to the petrol station. I'm sure it's in a book called "Coventry at War"

I remember this fire station, it was housed in about the fourth and fifth shops from the newsagent shop at the corner of Owenford Road. There was only one appliance there, I believe it was an Austin K4 OR K6.

Fantastic and thanks - at least I can get a visual of the site on street view. If I stand with my back on the green looking down Owenford Road is it on the left hand corner of the right?

If you stand on the island with your back facing Links Road, look towards Owenford Road, count 5 shops to the left from the newsagents.
