That part of the school looks like it could be the former Tile Hill College side. That part of Templars School used to be the former girls school, and correct me if I'm wrong, that was part of Tile Hill Wood.

He was born in 1920 so would have been 14 at the time. Has anyone any other details of names of pupils or staff in the photo? Gordon Riley
I came across a reference to this photograph in a copy of the Coventry Evening Telegraph and it had been submitted by Dudley Ward (aged 85 at the time) of Kenilworth, he had worked in the tool room at Massey Ferguson with my father "Mick" Riley. The school was actually Whoberley School and he could identify several of the people in the photo. George Claridge (back row, fourth from left), parents had a shoe shop in Elm Tree Avenue - he became Dudley's brother in law. Dave Cranmore (back row, fourth from right), lived in Tile Hill village. Bob Richardson (back row, third from right), worked at Massey Ferguson. John Newall (back row, second from right), lived in Fir Tree Avenue. Les Greenway (front row, second left), parents had a cooked meat shop in Elm Tree Avenue. "Mick" Riley - then known as "Bason", holding the ball (my father). Dennis Fryer (sitting at the right on the ground), lived in Broad Lane.

Demolition of Jardine Flats Jardine Flats, the three tower blocks (and been a land mark from the A45) that have lain empty for a good while now, I understand are to be demolished on Wednesday 27th May 2026. I've no further details, with regards to road closures, or times of the demolition, but I could imagine it'll be a sight to see if the old Massey Ferguson office block is anything to go by.

With no news reports, and a chance drive past Jardine Crescent, the three tower blocks are still standing, boarded up with what looks like demolition team(s) preparing the flats for demolition. The attached photo was taken on my phone (apologies for the distortion of wide angle photography) this morning, for posterity.
