My sister lives in New Zealand so we've visited several times. It's a beautiful place. My favourite thing is that you can visit the far North for the tropics and experience ice caves in the extreme South in. Small towns abound with lots of good food and coffee houses to enjoy- oh the pies! Around the Lake Taupo area there are the natural thermal waters you can enjoy. Napier is a stunning city which was almost totally rebuilt after and earthquake in 1939. The people in charge looked around the world for ideas and built a gorgeous Art Deco city by the sea. With their summer occurring at the same time as our winter it makes a great seasonal break.

Hi, glad you enjoyed your visits to NZ. It is a beautiful country, there is something for everybody. and you can get a whole meal inside one of those pies you mentioned. Happy The most difficult transition takes place in December. I'm sure everybody in the UK would love to experience a Kiwi xmas, bbq and the beach, but it just doesn't feel like xmas. It has taken us over 30 years to adjust, but I suppose someone has to do it. Big grin

Welcome to the forum Brook Wave That's a very kind offer that will interest a few members. Double thumbs up Though you might need to enable contact. Don't worry, people won't see your real email unless you give it to them. The mail system uses dummy email addresses.

Yep, I'm up for it so long as you don't make me walk all the way back from Hawthorn Lane gate to Brook and Sparkes because I ran down the path.

Hello, Many schools have & have had serious issues, arson at the school near me years ago. One pupil from Woodlands was jailed for murder around the millennium time, but like the high profile case in Yorkshire last week, had also committed serious violence in school. Questions! We've closed the secure institutions for the depraved so the state can save money, should they now be brought back? Should such folk, no matter what age, be detained in those secure institutions indefinitely? In answering, please remain respectful, folk from all sides are hurt by these tragic events, I like to think that we are here to help. Have a good day all.
