Thank you Roger, I only ever liked certain areas even as a child. I agree, to much concrete even now especially on the ground.

I was brought up in old Hill Fields, so I wish to list some of my school pals from back including their home locations, and comments on various locations from that time, no doubt the majority are demolished or altered without recognition.
My school pals, and I:
Me: Primrose Hill Street
Jimmy Shields: Queen Street
Dave Bennett: White Street
Phillip Dufy: Oxford Street
Clifford King: Swanswell Street
Memories, memories:
An aluminum dump on Leicester Street opposite the St. Johns Ambulance service. Scrap plane parts and empty ammo boxes!
The Brass Workers Club on King Street. The Ring Road did it in!
On the corner of Primrose Hill Street and Swanswell Street there was a news agent selling a paper named The Pink every weekend
covering the soccer games and comments.
A Food Office on the corner of Hertford Street and Bull Yard
Woolworths and the Arcade were somewhat joined, you could step directly out of Woolies into the Arcade walkway.
Walking through the walkway in the Arcade you came upon the outdoor market with wooden stalls. I believe there
was also a Food Office outside the Arcade!
A PDSA office on Ford Street along with a True Form shoe shop close by.
Francis Barnett motorcycle plant on the corner of Cox Street and Ford Street. They used the pavement to display their products!
Singer Motors on Canterbury Street. They used to display, just put there, some of their finished products on a bombed site opposite their plant.
Beautiful maroon colors with gold painted lines on their full-length sides. Beauties!
To close, a tale of a Bull Mastiff!
On the corner of Primrose Hill Street and Vine Street, there used to be liquor store in place before Mr. Sharp turned things into a
fishing tackle shop. The liquor store owner had a Bull Mastiff dog named Nelson who had a glass eye. Used to love playing with him!
For now, that is it!
